Obtaining PTCRB Certification
Manufacturers work with authorized labs to test wireless devices for compliance with defined standards. After determining necessary tests, the lab conducts evaluations, submits results, and the manufacturer provides supporting documentation and fees. Certification is awarded once all requirements are met.

PTCRB Certification provides a standardized framework to validate that cellular devices meet global interoperability and performance standards aligned with internationally recognized standards.
Certification helps you get your device to market using standardized requirements accepted by network operators around the world.
PTCRB Certification is for smartphones, feature phones, tablets, notebook computers, modules, IoT chipsets, and devices incorporating certified chipsets. IoT devices can get certified using the IoT Network Certified program, which provides a streamlined process for IoT devices incorporating a PTCRB certified module.
The requirements are defined in the PTCRB Program Management Document. Our authorized test labs can help you determine the testing necessary for your device.
Certification time depends on the type of device and whether test results from related devices can be leveraged. Certification fees vary from $1,500 to $15,000 and are defined in the PTCRB Program Management Document. Testing fees are independently determined by each test lab.
